Den finske præst er sendt til Danmark for de her boende og arbejdende finner. Han står til rådighed for forskellige kirkelige handlinger (dåb, vielse, begravelse), men kan også besøges i andre anledninger. Det er også muligt at få en fortrolig samtale med præsten (præsten har tavshedspligt). |

Administratively, the Finnish Orthodox Church, which has over 58,000 members, is divided into three dioceses: Karelia, Helsinki and Oulu. The bishop of the diocese of Karelia is also archbishop, the other bishops being metropolitans. There is also an assistant bishop, called Bishop of Joensuu, in the diocese of Karelia.
The dioceses are further divided into 25 parishes, many of which cover an extensive geographical area. There are some 140 churches and chapels, and 133 clergy, 24 of whom are in retirement. There is one monastery and one convent.
